Mineral Insulated Cable
Mineral insulated cables are used primarily as thermocouples and heating units. It typically comprises one or more wire conductors contained within a bendable metal sheath. Magnesium oxide powder(MgO) is disposed in the sheath to maintain separation and electrical isolation between the sheath and the conductors. MgO is preferably used as the insulation material for the metal sheathed mineral insulated cables because it is stable at high temperatures, it provides a high electricity resistance and is also economical.
Thermocouple MI Cable
Inner conductors consist of one or more original thermocouple alloy for temperature measurement. Original thermocouple alloy composition is in accordance with the IEC60584-1 standard.The transferring mV signal of thermocouple is in accordance with the IEC60584-2 standard.
An example of Part No.: KSD30A
Type K, simplex (2 conductors NiCr-NiSi); Sheath material AISI316L;
Outer diameter 3.0mm, Accuracy Class I
RTD MI Cable
Inner conductors consist of several low resistance wires for transmitting electric signal (ohm). The conductors are welded with temperature meansurement element, usually it's Pt100/PT1000 thin film. With the sheath protection, the probe is suitable for most industrial temperature meansurement applications.Conductors,in most cases, are pure copper or nickel.
