In addition to the air tightness, mechanical strength, stability and thermal conductivity required by common thermocouples, the materials for making thermowells used in high temperature conditions also require:

(1) High temperature resistance: it is used at the upper limit of thermocouple temperature measurement, without deterioration and deformation, and has good oxidation resistance at high temperature.

(2) Thermal strength: does not soften under the use temperature of thermocouple.

(3) Corrosion resistance: when the thermowell must be immersed in the molten metal, glass, molten salt and corrosive gas, it shall have corrosion resistance.

(4) It has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, comprehensive thermal shock resistance, high thermal conductivity and small thermal expansion.
